Special nodular cast iron - SiMo


Ferritic nodular iron with silicon-molybdenum is an alloy cast with a basis of iron, silicon, molybdenum and carbon. Carbon can be found mainly as nodular particles.

MICROSTRUCTURE

Unless there is a particular agreement, the microstructure of ferritic nodular iron with silicon-molybdenum must contain at least 85% of graphite particles V or VI according to NF EN ISO 945 excluding the presence of forms I and II

The structure must contain at least 85 % of ferritic substances.

The maximum level limit of carbides is 5% and they can be found as thin split nets.
